Citrus County opened this Disaster Recovery Shelter on Saturday, September 28. The shelter is located at the Citrus Springs Community Center, 1570 West Citrus Springs Blvd, Citrus Springs, Florida 34434.

A Disaster Recovery Shelter provides a place for those who are temporary displaced from their home due to Hurricane Helene. The shelter is managed by the American Red Cross who will provide a place to sleep, meals and disaster case management to assist those in finding a permanent location or other services. If you plan on coming to the shelter, you are only provided with a cot and blanket. Be sure to bring toiletries and other personal items including anything else to make your stay more comfortable.

Transportation services
Citrus County Transit provides transportation at no cost to an open shelter or other safe location within Citrus County. To book transportation, please call: (352) 527-763

  • The Adult sale is held in the Hendrickson Room, on the 2nd floor, and the Children’s sale is held in the Cardinal Room on the 1st floor near the Dunton Avenue entrance.
    • Adult sale will feature Non-fiction books, sorted by category; fiction, vintage books, books in foreign languages; DVDs, Blu-Rays, music CDs, vinyl records, audiobooks, Great Courses.
    • Children’s sale features board and picture books, easy readers, novels and non-fiction, comics, video games, toys and games, DVDs and CDs.
  • Auction and Buy-It-Now items will be for sale on the 2nd floor.
    • Auction bidding begins Friday at 6 pm and ends Saturday at 2 pm.
    • Buy It Now features unique books and items; BIN sales continue through Sunday November 10 at 2 pm.
  • Sale Requirements & Information
    • Scanning is not allowed at FOL sales on any device. Please call or text outside the salerooms.
    • Children’s Sale Only: 25% Teacher discount with valid ID. Not valid at bag sale on Sunday.

    • Entrance to the Pre-View Book Sale will be from the patio only.
  • OPEN SALE: Friday (November 8) and Saturday (November 9) from 10 am - 4 pm
    • Children's books will be on sale on the on-going sale bookshelves inside the library 
  • BAG SALE: Sunday (November 10) from 10 am - 3 pm; $8.00 per grocery bag
    • One bag per person will be available from sale staff while supply lasts; or bring your own grocery-size bags.
    • Children's books will not be included in the bag sale
  • All proceeds benefit the Fairfax City Regional Library and the community it serves.
